Todoroki Falls

Todoroki (literally "roaring") Falls is named after the thunderous, roaring sound of the water that falls there. The waterfall is about 11 meters high, consists of three stages, and has a 2,500 m2 basin. Paths and parks have been constructed around the falls. Many people visit to see cherry blossoms in spring, and enjoy the natural coolness in summer. Perfect for a picnic! Ducks also gather at the waterfront.

Siebold-No-Yu

Situated on the opposite side of the river to Ureshino Onsen Park, this building has been restored to its original orange, stylish appearance which brings back a sense of Ureshino's history. Inside there is a common bathing area, private baths for rent, a citizens' gallery and more, making a great place of relaxation for tourists and locals alike. There is also great accessibility in the form of a multipurpose bathing room with minimal steps, a bathroom allowing wheelchair access and so on, so anyone can come and enjoy themselves.
Do check out Siebold-no-Yu for yourself.

One of the most famous onsen is Siebold-No-Yu which is named after a German doctor and scientist who visited the area in the early 19th century. While researching Japanese flora, Siebold took a break in Ureshino and sampled the onsen, taking note of the incredible waters in which he soaked.

Today, in an old-fashioned European-style building topped with a distinctive red roof, visitors can experience for themselves what the doctor recognized nearly two centuries earlier. At ¥400 for adults and ¥200 for children, this is one onsen that shouldn’t be missed!
